OUR STORY

Serving Edson for over 40 years.

Moving Edson & Area began in 1984 with a simple purpose.

To make sure seniors in Edson could get where they needed to go safely and reliably.

At the time, options were limited.

Appointments were missed.

Independence was harder to maintain.

So the community stepped up.

And built a service that still supports Edson today

Growing with our community

Over time, the need didn’t disappear.

It grew.

What started as a seniors transportation program has evolved into a broader, more responsive service.

Today, we support Edson residents:

  • Aged 55 and older
  • Individuals under 54 living with mobility or cognitive challenges

Because transportation barriers affect more than just older adults.

They affect anyone who needs support to move safely through their day.

Decades of showing up

For more than four decades, we have been part of daily life in Edson. Medical appointments.

Grocery trips.

Coffee visits.

The moments that keep people connected.

We have adapted.

We have expanded.

And we continue to show up.

Governance

Moving Edson & Area is supported by a volunteer Board of Directors.

The Board is responsible for providing governance, oversight, and long-term direction to ensure the organization remains accountable, sustainable, and aligned with community needs.

Board members are dedicated volunteers who contribute their time, experience, and leadership to support the success of the organization.

Their commitment helps ensure Moving Edson & Area continues to serve the community with integrity and purpose.
